Let's talk about movies!

One of the reason why my summer isn't boring is because of movies. I do movie marathon some time, especially months like this where I do nothing at all. I beat my last summer vacation's record of 19 movies. 'Cause I watched 38 this time! Thirty-eight. Yup, you read it right. Haha. And I became an instant fan of movie rental shops because I hate cinema-copy-DVD/CDs, it's quite annoying to watch. And hard. And I missed a lot of movies in theater in a while. So here's my 2012 list with no specific order:

  • Thelma (Maja Salvador as lead, an inspiring story, 3 stars)
  • Fuschia (Something you want to watch if you get a full boring hours. Gloria Romero as lead, 4 stars)
  • Death Note, Death Note 2: The Last Name and Death Note 3: L Change the World (I annually watch these 3 films every vacation over and over again! Hardcore fan. 5 stars)
  • Bad Teacher (This teacher is not that bad dude! Haha. So I give 3 stars)
  • 27 Dresses (Seriously good film especially for ladies out there! 4 stars)
  • All About Steve (I don't care if others don't, but I love Sandra Bullock and this film is good though I'm expecting a love story drama in here, 5 stars)
  • You Changed My Life (Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz fan, 4 stars)
  • Kimmy Dora (This film is LMFAO, good comedy film, 3 stars)
  • Tooth Fairy 2 (Just like the first Tooth Fairy with new characters and a twist, 3 stars)
  • The Truman Show (I'm not sociologists or fan of society but a professor suggest me to watch this film. It's kind of fun, unexceptional but not ordinary film, I liked this, 4 stars)
  • One More Chance (HARDCORE, One of the best film, ever. 5 stars)
  • Pirahnna 3D (Eye catching film, I pity people who will sleep over this film, not a fan but I love it. 4 stars)
  • Tanging Yaman (Broke my heart, 3 stars)
  • This Means War (A good one, 3 stars)
  • I Will Always Love You (INSERT CPTN HERE)
  • Journey Home (This film cracks me up, 5 stars)
  • Bahay Kubo (About a woman who adopt a lot of child and then when they that they are adapted, they leave the woman, good film for family, 4 stars)
  • Hello Stranger (Thai movie, I'm not satisfied with the ending but you know, that's life. 3 stars)
  • Jumper (Because of this movie, I wanted to become a jumper too. 4 stars)
  • Memento Mori (Can't believe I survived watching this alone, I hate horror especially if it wakes you up in the middle of the night. 2 stars)
  • Epic Movie (Epic, isnt't it? 2 stars)
  • Battleship (I love how they made this movie so cool that it... Oops. I don't want to spoil you guys, better watch it. 4 stars)
  • The Devil Wears Prada (Fashion is love, and follow what your heart says. Awesome, 5 stars)
  • My Sassy Girl (Hollywood version, Sad but good with it's little drama, 3 stars)
  • Miss Congeniality 2 ("That's how we do it in New York!" - Sandra Bullock, 4 stars)
  • Larry Crowne (Inspiring and I got excited to see the changes with this Mr. Crowne, 5 stars)
  • A Walk to Remember (I've just watch it this 2012. Pity me dude, but pity me no more! 4 stars)
  • Crazy, Stupid, Love (I love the crazy part, so much! Can I go with 4.5 stars? :D)
  • Drag Me to Hell (Thought I'm gonna be a scared kid, but I'm not! 3 stars)
  • A Mother's Story (Movie for all OFW's out there especially made for moms, 4 stars)
  • Ligo Na U, Lapit Na Me (Edgar Allan as lead with Mercedes Cabral, a good indie film from Eros Atalia's novel with the same title, 3 stars)
  • Manay Po 2: Overload (Cherry Pie Picache, Jiro, Polo, and Pratty. Good actress and actors, 3 stars)
  • The Viral Factor (I never thought I'd like action a lot, 5 stars)
  • Ninja Assassin (Rain as lead, also a good one, 4 stars)
  • The Darkset Hour (About alien destroying the world, awesome, 3 stars)
  • Pathology (For people who loves to eat strawberry pie while watching bloody people, 3 stars)

Well, don't mind my ratings because all of us have different point of views. That one only depends on me, 5 stars to must-watch movies and great ones, 4 with awesome films, 3 with I'm expecting more or something else in the movie, and 2 of course are the least of my favorite.

So if you want to go movie marathon next time, catch up with some in my list!

A day filled with magic

How to have an enchanting and awesome day? Just simply go to Enchanted Kingdom. It’s never too late to have a good childhood experience.

It was ten years ago since I had my first EK experience. It was fun though I still don’t have the guts to ride those deadly roller coasters and I am only 2nd grader that time. So there, after a decade I had this opportunity to go back on that magical place. Weeks before that day, we really can’t decide if we will go or not because of the bad weather condition. But on the last night, Friday March 30, we decided to go no matter what. I woke up early and meet my friends at 8AM.

Going to the park is easy, you will drive from Manila to SLEX and then exit to Sta. Rosa. Then you will take the RSBS Boulevard (when you see the Waltermart enter the road in the right). If you are going to commute and you want it for a cheap price, you can ride LRT 1 and then stop at Gil Puyat station. From there, ride JAC liner bus (route: Balibago). Tell the conductor to alight you at Waltermart. From Waltermart, you can ride tricycle to Enchanted Kingdom.

We arrived at almost 1PM. Good thing because it’s still early and the place is not yet crowded. March 31 is EK’s Ladies Night Out, they had this event thing for women’s month and luckily we have discount. The regular day pass is P500, we only pay P400.

As we enter the park, the magical day started. We began at Midway Boardwalk, straight to the Brooklyn Place, back to the Jungle Outpost, Boulderville and Portabello. Every moment bring happiness to us. My favorite part is when we ride Jungle log jam. I never expect myself to be brave that I sit on the front! But it was really fun and full of exciting moments! I think we had almost ridden everything beside the two of the most thrilling rides which is the EKstreme Tower and Space shuttle. We took other rides first because it’s better to ride the two during night time but we didn’t expect that they will stop these rides for the fireworks display. So, we ran out of time. The fireworks display is awesome! We watch it like kids saying “wow” to every sparks.

The whole day and night went very well. I think I get something more than what I had paid for. And having fun with people you want to laugh with is still the best!

Are you bored?

1. Open your PC/laptop/ipad. Click your web browser. Open youtube.com and type ‘nigahiga’. Watch his videos.

Trivia: Nigahiga is a popular YouTube channel created by Japanese-American Ryan Higa (born June 6, 1990 (age 21)). Since relocating to Las Vegas to study filmmaking at UNLV, Higa's videos are either solo efforts or videos with other people such as KevJumba. They are known for their YouTube comedy videos, which have been viewed over 1.03 billion times. As of December 2011, Higa's YouTube channel, nigahiga, has over 4.7 million subscribers, and is the second most subscribed YouTube channel of all time, surpassed only by RayWilliamJohnson. (c)

2. Open your PC/laptop/ipad. Click your web browser. Open youtube.com and type ‘Funemployed’. Watch all the episodes.

3. Open your PC/laptop/ipad. Click your web browser. Open youtube.com. Type marcelosantosiii. Watch his heartwarming short stories on videos.

4. Open your PC/laptop/ipad. Click your web browser. Open mysoju.com. Watch asian movies and/or dramas.

5. Open your PC/laptop/ipad. Click your web browser. Open shewassoshock.blogspot.com. Read all her post to kill time. Then, kill yourself. (kidding!)
Hindi naman ako ganun kasama magpayo (but maybe the last tip’s a little bad). And I hope, with these tips, you can waste your energy much better. Haha.

Sayang eh! At talaga namang lalo akong natuto.

The Golden Rules in Blogging.

Been inactive for a while, too busy at schooling. I just wanna share some tips I found on a magazine from an institution who visited our school. I own nothing here.

10 Easy Rules to Responsible Blogging

1. Thou Shall Not Steal
If you want to grow as a blogger and make a name for yourself, this is a big NO! Do not copy and paste other popular articles. If you are going to use them as references, give them the proper credit. Just write what you can and slowly, you will find your writing has evolved together with your blog.

2. Thou Shall Not Spam Contents
Comments are important since they help pull traffic to your blog. But make sure that these are relevant to the post; irrelevant comments can hurt you as well. If you write something that is of value, other readers will see you as "a value adder" and you get higher chances of getting more readers.

3. Thou Shall Concentrate on Content
Your main motive is to make first time visitors repeat visitors. So focus on your content. Good content is the key to successful blog.

4. Thou Shall Not Insult
Your blog is your media. You can use it to promote yourself or anybody else, or hurt someone. Refrain from bashing somebody. It may seem like a fine idea, but remember the old adage, "what goes around, comes around."

5. Thou Shall Recognize Readers
Your readers are what make you a better blogger. Their loyalty, suggestions, and insights into your own article help you grow. In return, acknowledge them and show them that they are appreciated.

6. Thou Shall Not Lie
Don't start your blog with a lie. Once somebody finds out your lying, it will certainly hurt your reputation and overall growth of your blog.

7. Thou Shall Post in Moderation
It is important to post frequently but if your topics do not interest other bloggers, it will not matter to your visitors. Some blogs do not update for 3-4 days but when they do, the content is really good. Give the right amount of your exposure.

8. Thou Shall Create Interest
Use catchy headlines to generates interest from your readers! Use something that will make your readers at least scan your post. Who knows, they might turn out to be a loyal reader later on.

9. Thou Shall Help Other Bloggers
Don't be a snob if you became a popular one. Help those who are just new in the field. Be a Good Samaritan.

10. Thou Shall Read Other Blogs
Being a blogger is not just about writing, you also have to read the posts of other bloggers. Besides, you can also learn a lot from reading other blogs like adapting to new tones and manner of writing among others.

A. E. I. O. U.

This A.E.I.O.U. can help you to solve all your problems in life.

A for Accept, we have to accept every trials that we had experienced.
E for Evaluate, after accepting the hardships evaluate all the things to figure out solutions. Get out of the problem to see "what" and "where" the problem and the solution is.
I for Improve, once you experienced the tripped and you fell on the ground try to stand up. Fix things up and never try to tripped again. Learn from your experiences and reflect.
O for Offer it to God, after you improved on different things offer your problems to God and He will help you.
U for Used it, as an experience used it to change other beliefs and things. Share it to others and they can learn from it as a second hand experience.

I went to Church this morning and this is one of the Sermon that the Priest wants us to know. Problems, hardships, trials, they have solutions because God is good, all the time.

Yours truly,
